Hightop homage

At the intersection of Drummond and Pelham streets in Carlton, there is a roundabout.
Soon after Ben died an excellent collection of sneakers developed, hanging from the power lines above the roundabout.
Neon Nike hightops
Crisp white Adidas
Blue and orange Tigers,
Spinning slowly to display their glory.
In my private thoughts, the growing collection was homage to Ben.

I put on a pair of black wedges the other day (which I purchased with Lindy not long after Ben went home). I casually inspected them as I left my room (shoes aren't my strong point) and saw that some of the colour had been scraped from the heel leaving a "brown hole in a black patent wedge" - "jill you need some new shoes" would have been Ben's comment...he spoke those words a few of times...
